Questions, answered

The things people ask most about Creator Tools Lab — how we sell, what we do with your files, and how to reach us. Can't find it here? Get in touch.

A team of creators building desktop and browser tools for people who do the same work we do. We make the things we wished existed while editing, so everything we sell, we use ourselves.
SyncLab — multicam sync for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, sold as a subscription with a free trial. The plugin builds the sequence straight in your editor and needs DaVinci Resolve Studio; without it, export an XML from the app and import that. GifLab — a free video editor in your browser, for the jobs where opening a full editor is overkill: presentations, quick clips, a frame you need right now. Drop a video in and pull a still out as a PNG, save it smaller, cut a piece out, or take just the audio. Exports carry a small GifLab logo, and an email plus a 6-digit code takes it off. More tools are on the way.
Yes — 14 days, everything unlocked, no card. Because there is no card, nothing can start charging you by accident when the trial ends. You need an account and a confirmed email address, and that is all.
Yes, for anything paid — the account is what holds your licence and your downloads. Create it on ctlab.app. GifLab needs no account to use. Its exports carry a small GifLab logo; giving an email and confirming a 6-digit code removes it.
Payments run through Stripe Managed Payments, under which Link is the merchant of record — legally the seller for the transaction. Your card details are entered on their systems and never reach us. Your statement will read exactly LINK.COM* CTLAB.APP.
It renews automatically until you cancel — monthly or yearly, whichever you picked. Cancelling is self-serve and takes one step from your account. There is no retention gauntlet and no support ticket. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access to the end of the period you already paid for. Anything unclear, just ask us.
Tool did not suit you? No problem — write to support@ctlab.app within 14 days of a charge and we refund it, no questions asked. If you have a moment to tell us what was missing we would be grateful, but it is never a condition. The full policy is on the refund page.
No. Your media is processed on your own computer and is not uploaded — there is no cloud render step and nothing to wait on. That is not the same as working offline: a paid app needs a licence, so it checks in with our server about that licence, and it sends a diagnostic log so we can fix problems. That log describes how the app behaved; it carries no file names — clips are referred to by number. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves your machine.
Both, natively. On a Mac you need Apple Silicon (M1 or later); Intel Macs are not supported. On Windows you need Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which an up-to-date Windows already has.
One subscription runs on one computer — the first computer you sign in on. To move it, sign in on the new computer — it transfers there by itself, once every 14 days. During your free trial that limit doesn't apply — move it as often as you like while you're testing. Two people editing at the same time need two subscriptions.
Sign in on the new computer, enter the code we email you, and the licence moves itself — you do not need to free the old machine first. On a paid plan this is available once every 14 days; during your free trial there is no limit at all, so move it as often as you like while testing.

Need it moved sooner — a machine died, a rebuild went wrong? Write to support@ctlab.app and we will do it for you.

One thing worth knowing: reinstalling your operating system counts as a new computer; plugging into a dock or changing your network does not.
There are no advertising pixels and no session recording on this site. Analytics are cookieless and cannot follow you anywhere else. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.
Open the install guide that came in the archive and delete what it told you to put there — the app is the folder you unzipped, and each editor plugin is a folder you copied in. There is no uninstaller because nothing is installed: no registry entries, no services, no Start-menu shortcuts.

After removing a Resolve plugin, restart Resolve or its menu entry stays until you do. Reinstalling later starts fresh, and your licence comes back with your account rather than with the folder.
We do, and we like getting these. Write to support@ctlab.app — support is read every day, and a good bug report from someone who edits for a living is worth more to us than a roadmap meeting. Ideas are just as welcome as problems.
